Welcome to Capital City Pediatrics

Protecting our city's most precious resource

About

At Capitol City Pediatrics our mission is to provide excellent medical care in an intimate family centered environment.  The providers are mothers who want nothing more than to embrace the concept of a medical home, and watch your children and families grow.  We truly value the relationships we have with our families and love watching babies grow from newborns into young adults.  Our entire staff is completely dedicated to this same task, and we hope to partner up as families taking care of families.

Christy L. Robinson, MD

Christy was born and raised here in Charleston, WV.  She then completed her undergraduate training at The University of Kentucky and Marshall University with a major in Biology and a minor in both Chemistry and Spanish.  Christy then went on to complete her medical school training at Marshall University's Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine.  She then completed her pediatric residency training back home at CAMC Women's and Children's hospital with WVU Charleston.  There she was honored with such awards as "Pediatric Intensive Care Resident of the Year", "Kenneth Starling Resident of the Year", and she also served as Chief Resident.  After residency she spent nearly 7 years employed with Kid Care Pediatrics here in Charleston.  There she has had the pleasure of meeting and taking care of thousands of wonderful families.

Dr. Robinson is a Board Certified pediatrician and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.  She and her husband currently live in Charleston with their 3 young children.  In her spare time, she enjoys running kids to ballgames and numerous other activities!  Christy is a mother dedicated to helping other parents raise their children to be healthy both physically and emotionally.  She has a true passion for watching kids and families grow and considers it an absolute privilege to be able to do so.

Michelle Proops, PNP

Michelle has been in pediatrics for nine years and considers it her passion. She spent four years working for Camc at the Women and children's hospital as a nurse on the pediatric floor and in primary care as a certified pediatric nurse practitioner for the past five years. She graduated from WVU with both her bachelors of science in nursing and a masters degree as an advanced nurse practitioner. Michelle is especially interested in helping mothers breast feed, knowing first hand what a challenging but rewarding experience it can be, and as a juvenile diabetic, her goal is to educate and help guide others with diabetes. With a happy, busy toddler at home and a husband who is a physician with the CAMC hospitalist group, they are happy to raise their son in Charleston where they were both born and raised.
